BT-3 BASIC Tester is equipped with a filter making it more powerful combustion leak tester in compare to the simplest BT-1 tester. Thanks to the filter, accuracy of the tester rise to 99.9% The simplistic design and the filter gives you the best price/performance ratio on the market.

BT-3 tester is immune to any contaminants making it more versatile and accurate device in detecting medium and big combustion leaks in combustion engines.

• The tube is made of chemically inert plastic, NOT PVC  ( PVC is cheap plastic, not suitable for chemical testers, above 90degC the PVC releases small amount of HCL, It will trigger false test result!!!!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

If a combustion leak is present, a small amount of exhaust gases goes to the cooling system. This tester can sniff these gases, in the presence of them,  the test fluid will change colour. The crucial part of the tester is a filter, blocking all contaminants which could falsify the test result. This will increase the accuracy to 99.9%

TEST FLUID, BLUE OR RED?

We offer two different fluids because diesel engines have different gas composition, lower in co2 and higher in nitrates.

The blue fluid is not suitable for DIESEL engines as it changes colour to GREEN, making it more confusing with the interpretation of the test result. 

IMPORTANT NOTE!!! :  The rubber bung fits a wide range of cars anyway before placing an order, please check if it fits the coolant's inlet in your car.

The rubber bung diameter: (narrow end: 37mm, wide end: 41mm)
